  • Dianic Witchery is an earth-centered Wiccan tradition that honors the female mysteries. It was introduced to the U.S. in 1971 by Z. Budapest. The tradition celebrates female life-cycle events and honor the female body as a manifestation of the Goddess.* Dianic women commit themselves to walk a path of female cosmology, community, and empowerment. We are firmly against the patriarchal construct in all its forms. We walk a life-affirming path. We believe in power WITH and reject power OVER. Men are NOT hated, they are simply not a part of the tradition in any way- it’s all about women.

    ‍ ‍ * Women’s Rites Women’s Mysteries, by Ruth Barrett

  • Dianic practitioners are witches. “Dianic traditions is the perception and experience that the source of life is symbolically, metaphorically, and literally female.” (Women’s Rites, Women’s Mysteries by Ruth Barrett) We work with the goddess Diana and women’s mysteries.

Goddess Women celebrate Goddess in her many forms and traditions without practicing witchcraft. They observe the high holidays and can circle with witches in celebration. For more information about Goddess Spirituality, click the picture below titled Museum of Woman.

  • Absolutely not. There are so MANY kinds of witches out there:

Gardeninarian, Cabot, Dianic, Alexandrian, Eclectic, British Traditional, Stregheria, Feri, Traditional, Hedge, Green, Kitchen, Sea, Cosmic, Chaos, Crystal, Lunar, Solar, Elemental, Death, then there are Brujería, Hoodoo, Vodou, Candomblé, Seiør

    And lots more!

  • To answer that, I would ask, “what is your cosmology?”

To explore this I would suggest taking some classes and decide what you think. Chalice Moon Grove offers classes (click on pic below)

    or

You can refer to Temple of Diana in Los Angeles, Ca area that offers MANY on-line and in-person classes on the subject

For Goddess Spirituality, look up Museum of Woman in Orange County, Ca (link below) and other such institutions.

There are many current authors on the subject of Women’s Spirituality including:
